Plastic bottles discarded in nature cause irreversible environmental damage. Our client, Lidl Slovenija, which places sustainability and environmental awareness at the heart of its business and supports efforts to introduce a deposit-return system, therefore backed a bottle collection campaign with a double purpose: to provide financial assistance to the association Heroes of the 3rd Floor (pediatry oncology department’s location) and to help create a cleaner environment. From the very beginning, our agency’s experts were actively involved in the initiative.
To successfully support the campaign, Lidl Slovenija set up collection points in three of its stores and, in cooperation with Interzero Slovenija, a packaging waste management company, ensured that all collected bottles were properly recycled and reused. At the same time, through thoughtful communication activities, Lidl Slovenija inspired a nationwide charitable movement among the people of Slovenia.
The results exceeded all expectations: together, we helped collect 29.6 tons of plastic, or 1,043,709 bottles, which means that—statistically speaking—every second Slovenian participated in the campaign.
For this project, we and Lidl Slovenia received the Prizma 2024 Award in the Sustainable Action Programs category.
